Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start a new game?
From the home screen, tap the game you want to play (Quiddler, Five Crowns, Phase 10, Rummy, Hand and Foot, Canasta, Skip-Bo, or Uno). You will be prompted to add players before the first round begins. Once your players are set, tap "Start Game" to begin scoring.
How do I add players?
When starting a new game, you will see an "Add Player" option. Tap it to enter a player name, then tap "Add" to include them. You can add as many players as your game supports. Previously used player names will be available for quick selection so you do not have to re-enter them each time.
How are scores tracked?
Each game has its own scoring rules built in. After each round, enter the scores for each player and DeckScore will automatically calculate running totals, track round progression, and detect game completion. For games like Phase 10, the app also tracks phase completion alongside point totals. For games like Hand and Foot and Canasta, meld bonuses are handled automatically.
How do I view statistics?
DeckScore tracks wins, streaks, head-to-head records, and achievements across all your games. Access the Statistics section from the main menu to see player performance, win percentages, and game history. You can filter by game type to see how each player performs in specific games.
Is my data backed up?
All data is stored locally on your device. DeckScore does not use cloud services or sync data externally. Your game history and statistics are included in standard iOS device backups, so they will transfer when you restore from an iCloud or computer backup.
Does DeckScore require an internet connection?
No. DeckScore works entirely offline. There are no accounts to create, no servers to connect to, and no data transmitted from your device. It works the same whether you have internet access or not.
